Last Week

Hey
Sorry for keeping you waiting so long for the English version of the text. We don’t have much time to write the same things twice so we’ll try to post things in English maybe once a week.
We’ve now arrived in Perth, Western Australia. Our week in Singapore was great. One day after the trip to Sentosa Island, we went sightseeing and saw the most important parts of Singapore, as Chinatown, little India and some of the rich areas around Marina Bay. We walked next to the beautiful Singapore river and saw Orchard Road, one of the world’s most popular shopping streets.
On Thursday, we went to the Universal Studios. We met Joyce from Malaysia who came to Singapore with her four year old son to meet Michael and me. I got to know her at my last international seminar at the International Academy for Leadership in Gummersbach. We had a very fun day at the Universal Stuios, even though it was raining and they were much smaller than the ones I had been to when I was in California. Still it was so great to see Joyce again and we thought it was very funny to meet a person in our hometown and see her next at the end of the world:).

Friday was the day that we went to Kuala Lumpur. We had booked the flight about two weeks before and the hostel only one day prior to our arrival. The hostel was in a very bad neighborhood so we were a little bit scared but it was pretty clean and only cost around 17 euros for the two of us.
In the center of Kuala Lumpur, Malaysias capital, we met Carmen who I also met at one of my international seminars at the IAF. She showed us the most interesting and beautiful places of KL, made us try great food and we spent a great day with her. The most impressing sight were, of course, the Twin Towers of Malaysia. They are so huge, modern and just amazing. You can scroll down to see some pictures of our trip in the German version of the text.
In the evening, Carmen brought us to a skybar where we met some friends from Germany. They invited us to stay with them for the night so we didn’t have to go back to the dangerous place of our hostel.
The next day our German friends took us to the jungle that was close to their town. It was amazing how beautiful nature can be. We went up a little mountain, went swimming in waterfalls and saw lots of unfamiliar insects, trees and other plants. It was such a great, new experience and we are very thankful that we have the chance to see so many new things. After the trip to the jungle, we went out to eat with them. We loved the chinese food!
Later they took us to the airport and we went back to Singapore. We got to the hotel late, packed our stuff, got up early and went to the airport again. From there we flew to Perth. Now we’re here. Today we just slept most of the time because we never really had the time to do so in Singapore or Kuala Lumpur. Tomorrow, we’ll start to explore the city!
Thanks for reading!
Yours,
Michael and Sara
